OSBORNES LAW NAMED ONE OF UK’S BEST COMPANIES TO WORK FOR SECOND YEAR RUNNING
London law firm Osbornes Law has shot up the rankings in an annual list of the Best Companies to Work For.
The firm, which has offices in Camden and Hampstead, has not only landed a coveted spot on the list for the second year running, but has significantly improved on its position.
It is now considered the second best mid-sized company to work for in London – up from 16th last year – and 24th in the UK, up from 83rd.
Osbornes is also fifth – up from 16th – on the list of the UK’s best mid-sized law firms.
The Best Companies to Work For lists have been compiled annually since 2001, setting the standard for workplace engagement in a bid to promote happier, healthier workforces.
In particular, Osbornes was praised for its employee retention rate, with many partners and senior leaders having been at the firm since being trainees.
Judges were also impressed by the firm’s commitment to employee wellbeing, from one-to-one mentoring to providing sessions on mindfulness, resilience building and stress management.
Jo Wescott, who became Osbornes’ first female managing partner in its 50-year history when she took over earlier this year, said she was delighted to see the firm recognised again.
“We strive to make Osbornes Law a great place to work, but it’s always nice to receive third party endorsement,” she says. “To have risen up the rankings so significantly is also a real boost.
“Osbornes has always put its people at its heart and continues to do so, with initiatives such as the Hertility Health benefit which was introduced this year and gives all our employees and their partners access to free fertility testing.
“Without our wonderful workforce, we would not be where we are and that’s why we’re committed to investing in them and making their health and wellbeing our priority.”
Founded in 1973, the firm was originally based above Camden tube station and is named after William Osborn MBE, a fellow solicitor who once practised there.
It has since grown to become one of the largest private client law firms in London, with its principal office in Camden and a second office in Hampstead, plus 160 lawyers and staff. It has also been recognised in The Times Best Law Firm Guide every year since entering in 2019.
