SINGLE MUM MAKING SIX-FIGURE SALARY FROM HOME
A single mum based in London now makes a six-figure salary as the CEO of her own business.
Naima Lacerna, 30, worked as a business development and sales consultant for four years before starting her own business at the start of the pandemic.
She said: “My maternity leave finished in March 2020 when the Coronavirus first hit. It was ironically perfect timing as I had been wanting to start my own consultancy company to work more flexibly and spend time with my new-born daughter.”
When most businesses were crumbling under the strain of a whittling economy, Naima welcomed the chance to start Closer Consultancy.
“I struck gold with the timing. People are now much more open to outsourcing and working from home. My business has just grown from strength to strength. Travel restrictions haven’t stopped me from helping businesses find investors and buyers overseas. The opportunities are rife in Dubai and the Middle East. My clients soon learn they don’t need to restrict themselves to the UK.”
Naima added: “People are quick to state they have 25 years of experience in their industry and it’s generally viewed that the more years the better, but what have you been doing day in and day out to improve your industry knowledge and learning about new trends, tech and innovation? I used to work 13 to 14 hours a day burning myself out. Now I don’t have to do that and my clients are still successful.”
