MAZUMA APPOINTS FIRST CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AS IT STEPS UP GROWTH PLANS

The female-founded accountancy business Mazuma has begun 2026 by appointing Becky Glover as its Chief Financial Officer, marking the creation of a new senior role as the company accelerates its ambitions for growth and technological investment.

The appointment comes as Mazuma continues to challenge traditional models within the accountancy sector, positioning itself as a tech-enabled business focused on simplifying finance for clients while scaling its own operations. Establishing a CFO role reflects the firm’s transition into a more complex phase of growth, where financial discipline and data-led decision-making are increasingly critical.

Glover joins Mazuma with experience spanning biotech, software and insurance, having spent the past decade working in fast-growing, technology-driven organisations. Her career has centred on translating financial data into actionable insight, supporting leadership teams to grow at pace without losing operational control.

Beyond her executive roles, Glover brings significant sector involvement. She sits on the board of the Association of Accounting Technicians, serves as vice chair of the ACCA Financial Services Sector Panel, and is a co-founder of Connexion Career Collective, a community supporting women working in male-dominated industries.

Lucy Cohen, Founder and CEO of Mazuma, said: “I’ve had my eye on Becky for a long time, so I’m genuinely delighted she’s joining us. She brings serious financial firepower and understands exactly how to build financial control without killing momentum and ambition.

“That kind of attitude and knowledge make her a perfect fit for Mazuma. We move quickly, we question everything and we are proud to be disruptive. Becky is calm, pragmatic, smart and very much our kind of human. I can’t wait to see how she helps take us forward.”

Glover’s approach to finance is closely linked to technology, underpinned by the belief that modern systems should enable people to focus on meaningful work rather than administrative burden. That philosophy has informed her previous roles, supporting both organisational growth and team performance.

Her perspective is also shaped by first-hand entrepreneurial experience. Alongside her corporate career, Glover previously ran her own e-commerce wine business, gaining exposure to every aspect of running a company, from supply chains to customer acquisition — and, as she notes, an unexpected education in soil.

Commenting on her appointment, Becky Glover said: “Mazuma has a really clear sense of who it is and what it’s building. That’s rare and it’s exciting. The team moves fast, thinks differently and I can already tell everyone genuinely cares about doing things better for clients.

“I’m looking forward to helping Mazuma grow even further and making sure the numbers are working just as hard as the people.”

The appointment further strengthens Mazuma’s leadership team as the business invests in its proprietary technology platform and continues to position itself as a challenger brand within the UK accountancy market.
