FORESIGHT PUTS PREDICTIVE PROJECT DELIVERY AT CENTRE OF GLOBAL DATA CENTRE DEBATE

AI DATA CENTRE BOOM PUTS PROJECT DELIVERY UNDER PRESSURE AS FORESIGHT TARGETS INFRASTRUCTURE BOTTLENECKS

Foresight will use September’s Platform Global 2026 conference to address one of the critical challenges facing the rapidly expanding data centre industry; how investors and operators can deliver complex infrastructure faster while managing supply chain constraints, capital risk and project uncertainty.

The accelerating development of digital infrastructure is putting increasing pressure on the systems used to plan, monitor and deliver major data centre projects.

Predictive project delivery specialist Foresight will bring that issue to Platform Global 2026 in Antibes, France, where Executive Chairman and Co-Founder Dr Atif Ansar will join senior industry figures to examine how the sector can improve the predictability and speed of data centre development.

Foresight, which describes its role as the digital “Chief Time Officer” for major infrastructure programmes, is a Lead Platinum Partner of the conference, which takes place from 8 to 10 September.

The company will also host the event’s fifth anniversary gala reception on 9 September.

DATA CENTRE DELIVERY COMES UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT

Platform Global brings together investors, operators, real estate professionals, consultants and other senior figures from the international digital infrastructure industry.

More than 100 speakers are scheduled to participate in this year’s fifth-anniversary event.

Ansar will take part in a panel entitled Rethinking Project Delivery to Meet RFS – Managing Priorities & Trade-Offs, examining how investors and operators can work across the value chain to navigate supply chain constraints, improve predictability and accelerate data centre development.

RFS — or “ready for service” — is a particularly important commercial milestone for data centre operators because delays in delivering operational capacity can postpone the point at which infrastructure begins generating revenue.

The discussion will therefore focus not simply on construction speed, but on managing the competing priorities involved in complex capital-intensive developments and ensuring critical stakeholders are involved at the appropriate stages.

PREDICTING RISK BEFORE IT BECOMES DELAY

Foresight’s proposition is based on replacing static project schedules and retrospective reporting with a continuously updated project control system.

Designed for complex infrastructure including hyperscale data centres and advanced industrial facilities, the platform integrates execution data, validates progress and seeks to identify potential risks before they materially affect delivery.

For asset owners and operators, the commercial objective is to improve certainty around completion while protecting capital and shortening the period between investment and revenue generation.

That capability is becoming increasingly significant as the data centre industry deals with large, complicated development programmes involving construction, power, equipment, supply chains and numerous contractors and stakeholders.

INDUSTRY LEADERS TO EXAMINE THE TRADE-OFFS

Ansar will be joined on the Platform Global panel by Kelly Palmer, Founder and CEO of Palmer Shore; Lars Willemsen, SVP and Managing Director Data Centers EMEA at Netceed; Thomas Jung, Executive Vice President at Equans; and Anne-Marie Friel, Partner at Pinsent Masons.

The discussion will be chaired by global data centre procurement leader Eve Mcilvaney.

The panel takes place in Antibes on Wednesday, 9 September at 16:55 CEST.

The combination of investment, construction, legal, procurement and infrastructure expertise reflects the increasingly interconnected nature of data centre development.

Supply chain problems or delays in one part of a programme can have consequences across the wider delivery timetable, increasing the importance of coordination and earlier identification of risk.

$25M BACKING FOR GLOBAL EXPANSION

Founded in 2018, Foresight operates globally from New York, London and Tel Aviv.

The company has raised $25 million in Series A funding led by Macquarie Capital Venture Capital.

Its focus on predictive project delivery places it within a wider technology shift in major infrastructure, as asset owners look for more sophisticated ways to use live project data to manage increasingly expensive and complicated developments.

For the data centre sector, the stakes are particularly high. As operators seek to bring additional digital infrastructure capacity into service, the ability to identify delays before they become critical could have a direct bearing on both capital efficiency and time-to-revenue.

Platform Global’s project delivery debate will examine how far technology, improved coordination and different approaches to project management can help close that gap.
