PACKAGING SPECIALIST VENTUREPAK STRENGTHENS ICE CREAM SECTOR LINKS WITH ICA MEMBERSHIP

VENTUREPAK JOINS ICE CREAM ALLIANCE TO STRENGTHEN POSITION IN GROWING UK MARKET

Packaging manufacturer Venturepak has joined the Ice Cream Alliance (ICA) as the St Helens-based business looks to deepen its presence within the UK’s evolving ice cream sector.

The move comes as ice cream manufacturers face increasing pressure around sustainability, compliance, food safety and product presentation, placing greater emphasis on the role of specialist packaging providers across the supply chain.

Founded in 2021, Venturepak has rapidly established itself as a supplier of plastic packaging solutions for the food industry. Led by Directors Martin Barber and Matt Buckley, both of whom bring decades of experience in food packaging, the company is now seeking to build closer relationships with ice cream producers and industry stakeholders through its membership of the sector’s leading trade organisation.

Strengthening Industry Connections

The Ice Cream Alliance represents manufacturers, retailers and suppliers across the UK ice cream industry, providing members with access to training, technical guidance, regulatory updates and networking opportunities.

For Venturepak, membership offers a direct route into industry discussions at a time when manufacturers are navigating changing consumer expectations and increasingly complex regulatory requirements.

The company believes the partnership will help strengthen its reputation within the sector while providing valuable insight into the challenges facing its customers.

Martin Barber, Director of Venturepak, said: “Being part of the Ice Cream Alliance makes us a more recognised and trusted name in the industry. It gives us access to expert advice, networking opportunities and industry representation.

“We also get access to tailored training courses for business operations in our industry. It will just give us so much more credibility in the ice cream world.”

Supporting A Changing Market

The UK ice cream sector continues to adapt to changing consumer demands, particularly around packaging quality, sustainability and product differentiation.

As a supplier operating within the wider food packaging industry, Venturepak sees its ICA membership as an opportunity to better understand emerging market trends while helping customers meet both operational and regulatory requirements.

The Ice Cream Alliance also provides members with support on food safety standards, labelling requirements and best practice guidance, areas that remain increasingly important for businesses operating within the food sector.

By working more closely with manufacturers and retailers, Venturepak hopes to continue developing packaging solutions that support both product quality and commercial performance.

Looking Ahead To Further Growth

The announcement follows a successful trading period for Venturepak, which included the launch of a new company website and continued expansion across its customer base.

With preparations already underway for the 2026 ice cream season, the business sees its ICA membership as a platform for future growth and deeper engagement within the sector.

Martin Barber added: “We are truly excited to be joining such a prestigious alliance and look forward to attending events and immersing ourselves further in the world of ice cream.”

As the industry continues to evolve, stronger collaboration between manufacturers, suppliers and trade bodies is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting innovation, compliance and sustainable growth across the UK’s ice cream market.
