UK HEALTH TECH FIRM AIDE HEALTH EXPANDS INTO US THROUGH TEMPLE HEALTH DIABETES PARTNERSHIP
UK DIGITAL HEALTH COMPANY TAKES NHS-PROVEN AI PLATFORM TO US MARKET
Aide Health, the UK digital health company focused on improving outcomes for patients with chronic conditions, has launched its first programme in the United States through a strategic partnership with Temple Health, targeting one of the world’s fastest-growing healthcare challenges: type 2 diabetes.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone in Aide Health’s international expansion and reflects the growing global demand for digital solutions capable of improving patient outcomes while reducing pressure on healthcare systems.
The initiative forms part of the 2026 Clinical Care Innovation Grant programme funded by Independence Blue Cross (IBX) and will focus on developing new models of patient support designed to improve disease management, increase medication adherence and reduce long-term healthcare costs.
Tackling A Global Health Challenge
Type 2 diabetes has become one of the defining health challenges of the modern era, affecting more than 537 million people worldwide.
Despite advances in treatment, nearly half of patients continue to struggle with blood sugar control, increasing the risk of serious complications and placing significant strain on healthcare systems.
The challenge is particularly relevant for Temple Health, where approximately one in five outpatient patients is currently living with diabetes.
Managing these patients effectively requires ongoing support beyond traditional clinical appointments, including education, monitoring and regular engagement.
AI Support Beyond The Clinic
The new programme, called My Health Aide, introduces Aide Health’s conversational AI platform into everyday patient care.
The technology is designed to support patients between clinical visits through short daily interactions that encourage medication adherence, provide trusted health information and help users better manage their condition.
At the same time, clinicians receive real-time patient insights, allowing earlier intervention and more personalised care when required.
Importantly, the platform has been specifically developed to serve low-resource and underserved communities. It requires minimal data usage and features a simple interface already being used successfully by patients in their 80s.
The initial rollout will take place across two Temple Health primary care practices where diabetes prevalence remains particularly high.
Research-Led Innovation
The programme is being led by Dr Janet Lee, Assistant Dean for Clinical Research and Director of the Laboratory for Implementation and Dissemination Science (LIDS) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
Researchers will assess whether AI-driven support can improve both medication adherence and glycaemic control while also examining how patients and healthcare professionals engage with digital health technologies in real-world settings.
The findings could provide valuable evidence for broader adoption across healthcare systems facing increasing pressure from chronic disease management.
NHS Success Provides Foundation For Growth
For Aide Health, the US launch builds upon experience gained through successful NHS deployments in the United Kingdom.

A Growing Role For UK Health Technology
The partnership also highlights the increasing international influence of UK health technology companies.
The collaboration emerged following Aide Health’s participation in the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) US Accelerator programme, which helps British healthcare innovators establish partnerships and commercial opportunities in North America.
A 2025 visit organised through the City of Philadelphia, the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and Temple University’s Innovation Nest helped create the foundations for the partnership.
