WINGSTOP UKI STRENGTHENS LONDON FOOTPRINT WITH SOUTHSIDE SHOPPING CENTRE LAUNCH

Wingstop UKI is set to deepen its presence in south-west London with the opening of a new restaurant at Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth, reflecting continued appetite for US-born quick-service dining brands across the capital.
The popular chicken wing chain will launch the dine-in site on Garrett Lane in March, occupying a unit next to BrewDog. The opening follows sustained demand in the area and marks another step in Wingstop’s steady UK and Ireland expansion strategy.
Founded in the United States in 1994, Wingstop now operates more than 2,000 restaurants globally. The brand entered the UK market in 2018 and expanded into Ireland last year. It currently runs more than 85 locations across the two territories, positioning itself as one of the fastest-growing fast-casual operators in the sector.
The chain has built a loyal following around its made-to-order wings and tenders, hand-sauced in ten flavours ranging from Lemon Pepper and Mango Habanero to the notably fiery Atomic. The broader menu includes burgers, fries, milkshakes and churros, alongside a recently introduced corn side, broadening its appeal beyond its core wing offering.
The Wandsworth launch is also a strategic win for Southside Shopping Centre, which has been actively strengthening its mix of retail and leisure tenants to drive footfall and dwell time.
Shannon Reed, Centre Director at Southside Shopping Centre, said: “We’ve seen the buzz around Wingstop UKI so we’re pleased to be welcoming the flavour-packed brand to Southside next month.
“The restaurant’s arrival underscores our ongoing commitment to bringing market-leading brands to the heart of Wandsworth and builds on from a series of recent opening at the centre, reaffirming Southside’s position as a vibrant destination for shopping, dining and leisure.
“We’re proud to offer our guests even more choice and we can’t wait to see them open their doors and try out the brand’s array of signature menu items for ourselves.”
Wingstop’s arrival follows a series of notable lettings at the centre, including homewares retailer Dunelm, wellbeing brand Rituals, jewellery retailer Invoke London and fast-food chain Taco Bell. The clustering of national and international brands reflects the resilience of destination shopping centres that combine retail with food and beverage-led experiences.
For Wingstop UKI, the Wandsworth opening underlines its ambition to scale further in key urban catchments where brand awareness and consumer demand are already established. For Southside, it reinforces a strategy centred on high-profile operators capable of drawing sustained footfall in an increasingly competitive London dining market.
