UK HAIR LOSS MARKET ENTERS NEW PHASE AS KSL CLINIC AND SONS LAUNCH INTEGRATED CARE MODEL

The UK’s fast-expanding hair restoration market is entering a new phase as KSL Clinic, the largest network of hair transplant centres in the UK and Ireland, partners with men’s health brand Sons to offer an integrated approach to hair loss treatment that spans early intervention, surgical restoration and long-term aftercare.
The collaboration brings together two parts of a market that have historically operated in parallel. Men seeking treatment have typically faced a choice between prescription medication aimed at slowing hair loss, or surgical intervention once hair loss has progressed. By combining subscription-based medical treatment with nationwide surgical expertise, the partnership aims to close that gap and create a single pathway of care.
The move comes as demand for hair loss treatment continues to rise. Male-pattern baldness, known clinically as androgenetic alopecia, remains one of the most common health concerns affecting men in the UK. NHS data suggests that around half of men experience some degree of hair loss by the age of 50, while genetic studies drawing on UK Biobank data indicate that as many as 80 per cent of men of European ancestry are affected during their lifetime.
That prevalence is translating into rapid commercial growth. The UK hair restoration market was valued at approximately £95 million in 2023 and is forecast to exceed £310 million by 2030, according to Grand View Research, driven by both demographic trends and a growing willingness among men to seek treatment earlier.
Sons has built its business around remote access to prescription treatments, offering finasteride and minoxidil via a subscription model delivered directly to customers’ homes. Both medications are clinically proven to slow hair loss and promote regrowth when used consistently. KSL Clinic, meanwhile, operates eight clinics across the UK, providing surgical hair restoration for men and women, alongside consultations, structured aftercare and long-term monitoring.

Under the partnership, patients will be guided through every stage of the hair restoration process, from preventative medical treatment to surgical intervention where required, and ongoing support designed to protect long-term outcomes. The companies say the integrated model is an industry first in the UK.
Anna McCartney, CEO of KSL Clinic, said: “At KSL Clinic, our commitment has always been to deliver exceptional patient care and results. Partnering with Sons allows us to extend that journey by providing our patients with trusted access to clinically proven prescriptive medicines. Both KSL Clinic and Sons are aligned, sharing the same values of putting patients first, delivering evidence-based treatments, supporting long-term outcomes, and both strive to achieve excellence in our core business. This collaboration enhances the tailored care we already provide, ensuring our patients have every opportunity to achieve the best possible results in their hair restoration journey.”
Will Kennedy, Founder and CEO of Sons, said the partnership reflects changing expectations among male patients. “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with KSL Clinic. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our mission to provide affordable, industry leading hair loss solutions for men. By combining our individual organisations expertise, we are confident that we can deliver best in class patient outcomes for men wanting to address and reverse their hair loss. Together, we are committed to setting new standards in the industry and enhancing the overall patient experience.”
The deal also mirrors a broader cultural shift in how men engage with health, appearance and wellbeing. Once treated as a taboo subject, hair loss has increasingly become part of wider discussions around confidence, mental health and self-care. High-profile public figures have helped normalise the conversation, while digital health platforms have lowered barriers to early treatment.
By uniting medical management with surgical expertise, the KSL–Sons partnership positions itself at the intersection of healthcare delivery and consumer health, as the sector moves towards more preventative, data-driven and patient-centred models of care.
