ACCOUNTANCY FIRM MGI MIDGLEY SNELLING STRENGTHENS CORE TEAMS WITH NEW HIRES

As professional services firms face rising demand from small and mid-sized businesses navigating tighter regulation and operational complexity, accountancy and advisory firm MGI Midgley Snelling LLP has expanded its team with two appointments across audit and management services.
The firm has recruited Eugene Tandi into its audit function and Gillian Lestrange into its management services team, reflecting a continued focus on strengthening technical capacity while investing in early- and mid-career professionals.
Tandi joins as an audit semi-senior, working across planning, fieldwork and audit completion, supporting clients in meeting statutory and regulatory obligations. Currently studying towards his Chartered Accountant qualification, he brings several years of audit experience across a broad range of industries including care, recruitment, engineering, media, construction, transportation and events.
He said the attraction of audit lay in its exposure to different business models and operating challenges. “I enjoy the variety that audit brings and the opportunity to really get under the skin of how a business works and where there may be areas to improve.
“MGI Midgley Snelling LLP has a strong reputation for supporting both clients and staff, so it felt like the right place to continue developing my career while working with a mix of organisations.”

Alongside the audit hire, Lestrange joins the firm’s management services team as an assistant accountant, focusing on bookkeeping and day-to-day financial support for small and medium-sized businesses. Her experience spans work with sole traders and limited companies, covering bookkeeping, account management, banking and payroll across sectors including design, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.
She said the role aligned closely with her preference for hands-on client engagement. “I like working closely with clients and helping keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. I look forward to working with a team that values communication and support for businesses of all sizes, both nationally and internationally.”
MGI Midgley Snelling provides audit, accounting, tax and advisory services to businesses and individuals, with a client base that ranges from owner-managed enterprises to more complex organisations requiring specialist support. The firm has signalled that further investment in people remains a priority as it looks to build capacity across service lines through 2026.
Sarah Squires, a partner at the firm, said the appointments were part of a broader strategy to strengthen key areas of client delivery. “Eugene and Gillian both bring valuable experience to the firm and strengthen two important areas of our service offering.
“We’re pleased to welcome them to the team and look forward to seeing the contribution they’ll make for our clients as they settle into their roles.”
