AWARDS LAUNCH AIMS TO RAISE PROFILE OF UNDERAPPRECIATED CONVEYANCING PROFESSION

A new national awards ceremony is set to recognise the often-overlooked professionals responsible for keeping the UK property market moving. The Conveyancing Awards, launching in 2026, will shine a spotlight on excellence across the legal, property and PropTech communities at a time when the sector is under growing pressure to modernise.

The inaugural event, organised by Globespan Media — the company behind the long-running What House? Awards — will take place on 14 May 2026 at The Londoner Hotel. It is expected to attract senior figures from conveyancing firms, law practices, housebuilders, digital property platforms and the wider residential ecosystem.

Daniel Hill, Director of Globespan Media and Founder of The Conveyancing Awards, said the event aims to give overdue recognition to a profession that underpins the entire housing market. “As a discipline, conveyancing plays a crucial role in underpinning the whole housing market yet it is a sector that is widely underappreciated,” he said. “We therefore felt there was an opportunity to draw more attention to the firms, professionals and teams shaping the future of property law with a fresh new ceremony.”

He added that the structure of the awards has been designed to reflect the diversity of the sector. “Our categories have been carefully crafted to cover a broad cross-section of the industry, from geographical distinctions to new build specialists, high-performing individuals and teams, as well as the sector’s innovators and disruptors. The Conveyancing Awards represent an exciting expansion of our established awards portfolio, and we look forward to discovering the sector’s outstanding achievements and brightest talent.”

Entries open on 14 December 2025, with 14 categories spanning individual performance, team excellence and specialist areas such as commercial property, new-build sales progression, client service and innovative use of technology. Submissions will be made online at a cost of £150 + VAT per entry, closing on 14 February 2026.

Industry interest has already gathered momentum. The awards secured their headline sponsor ahead of launch, naming Show House Searches — a specialist new-build search and data provider — as premium partner.

James Shepherd, Business Development Director at Show House Searches, said the partnership aligns closely with the company’s role in supporting both housebuilders and legal firms. “The Conveyancing Awards will offer something different for our industry, bringing together not just legal experts but housebuilders and property teams within law firms too. This aligns perfectly with how Showhouse Searches operates, and therefore the headline sponsorship was a natural fit,” he said. “This partnership presents a compelling opportunity to establish these awards as a highlight of the industry calendar, while further elevating our profile and reputation.”

Hill said the addition of Show House Searches strengthens the awards’ positioning within both the legal and housebuilding communities. “We’re really pleased to welcome Show House Searches as our headline sponsor; they are a familiar brand to many in the housebuilding and legal professions, so we look forward to collaborating closely with them to raise the visibility and impact of the awards. We’re also excited to confirm our judging panel will be announced early next year, followed by the awards shortlist in spring, which we’re confident will extend the celebrations and build momentum ahead of May’s ceremony.”

The launch marks a significant expansion of Globespan Media’s awards portfolio and reflects the growing recognition of conveyancing as both a technical and commercial pillar of the UK property market.
