DIGITAL HEALTH BREAKTHROUGH AS PSYOMICS JOINS FORCES WITH NORTH LONDON NHS FOUNDATION TRUST

In a major step towards modernising mental health care, the North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) has entered into a strategic partnership with digital health innovator Psyomics to transform how more than 1.6 million residents across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington access support.

The initiative will see Psyomics’ clinically developed digital platform embedded across the Trust’s community mental health services, streamlining access to care and improving the way patients interact with clinicians.

Developed by psychologists, psychiatrists and researchers at the University of Cambridge, the Psyomics platform serves as a “digital front door” for adults aged 18–65 seeking support. By capturing detailed, patient-reported information — including symptoms, social factors and personal history — the system provides clinicians with a holistic overview from the outset.

With around a quarter of assessments completed outside normal office hours, the technology also enhances accessibility, ensuring that people can begin their care journey when it suits them. The result is a faster, more accurate, and more personalised approach to treatment — one that reduces delays and prevents patients from having to repeat their stories multiple times.

Jess Lievesley, Chief Operating Officer at North London NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our collaboration with Psyomics represents a significant advancement in how we support mental health across the communities of North Central London. By combining NLFT’s clinical expertise with Psyomics’ cutting-edge digital innovation, we are making it easier for individuals to access timely care and creating a more personalised care experience.”

Dr Melinda Rees, Chief Executive at Psyomics, added: “Our mission is to make mental health services more accessible, efficient and patient-centred. Working with North London NHS Foundation Trust means 1.6 million people will benefit from a simpler, faster route to the care they need. By combining clinical expertise with cutting-edge technology, we can help shape the future of mental health care, making it faster, more efficient, and more patient-centred.”

The collaboration forms part of NLFT’s wider transformation programme, which aims to extend the platform beyond adult services into Talking Therapies, Neurodiversity and Older Adults care.

By using advanced digital assessment and decision tools, Psyomics’ technology helps to standardise care across services, improve data accuracy and reduce administrative workload for NHS staff — all while maintaining compliance and clinical safety.

With demand for mental health services rising sharply across the UK, this North London model could soon become a national benchmark for how digital solutions can enhance NHS efficiency and patient experience. Experts believe that combining technology with traditional clinical pathways is key to building a sustainable and scalable future for mental health care.
