WAYBEYOND CAPITAL BACKS WEDISSIMO IN NEXT PHASE OF GROWTH
Wedissimo, the UK’s leading online wedding services marketplace, has secured fresh investment from WayBeyond Capital Ventures to accelerate its next phase of growth and expand its technology offering.
Founded in 2023, Wedissimo was created to streamline the wedding planning process by connecting couples with trusted service providers. In just over a year, the platform estimates that one in every 200 couples tying the knot in the UK have booked at least one service through the site.
The business operates in a sector estimated to be worth £3.9 billion in 2025, with the average UK wedding now costing more than £20,000. Against this backdrop, Wedissimo is positioning itself as a digital solution to the time-consuming and often opaque world of wedding planning.
Co-founder Andy Bowker said: “We are delighted about the new partnership. It gives us everything we need to realise our ambitious growth plans over the coming 12 months. Wedissimo is already an established brand that has reimagined the way couples can plan their wedding, matching them with local suppliers who are available to help bring to life the vision of their special day. The latest round of investment will support the business to not only further develop our proprietary technology but broaden the offer to add yet more value to those planning a wedding.”
Bowker, who launched the company alongside co-founder David Awad-Clark, was inspired by his own experience of planning a wedding. “When I got married, I couldn’t believe how much planning goes into a wedding, and how frustrating the total lack of transparency was,” he explained. “None of our wedding suppliers would publish prices, and we had to contact multiple suppliers just to check whether they were available for our date and location. More than anything, I couldn’t help but feel that the process was more expensive than it needed to be. If only I’d been able to browse quality professional suppliers by availability and have clear transparent pricing the whole process would have been so much easier… so in 2023 our journey with Wedissimo began!”
Today, Wedissimo works with suppliers across the UK and processes up to 150 bookings per month. With the backing of WayBeyond Capital Ventures, the company aims to enhance its proprietary technology, widen its supplier base, and consolidate its position as the UK’s go-to digital wedding marketplace.
