PENSIONBEE APPOINTS INDUSTRY VETERAN TO BOOST PERSONAL FINANCE ENGAGEMENT

PensionBee has announced the appointment of Maike Currie as Vice President of Personal Finance, as the retirement platform looks to further strengthen its consumer engagement strategy.
Currie brings two decades of experience in financial communication, client engagement and personal finance, having worked in senior roles at Hargreaves Lansdown, Fidelity International and Investec Asset Management (now Ninety One). She began her career as a financial journalist, contributing to Financial Times publications including Investors Chronicle, and is also a published author.
Most recently, she was Head of Marketing Campaigns and Content at Hargreaves Lansdown, where she oversaw strategies designed to help millions of customers better understand investments, savings and pensions. Prior to this, she spent almost ten years at Fidelity International, specialising in retail investor engagement across workplace pensions and direct-to-consumer business lines.
Known for demystifying complex financial topics and championing financial wellbeing, Currie has been a prominent advocate for closing the gender pension gap and encouraging more women to invest.
At PensionBee, she will shape the company’s personal finance and consumer engagement agenda, working closely with the brand and communications team while acting as a key spokesperson on broad personal finance issues.
Commenting on her new role, Currie said: “PensionBee is a company that I have long admired, showing what it means to be both progressive and people-centred. With female representation across the organisation and transparent salary bands, its values and actions truly reflect its vision of helping everyone save for a better retirement.
“I am thrilled to be joining PensionBee at such an exciting stage of its journey. Throughout my career I’ve been committed to helping people better engage with their money. Pensions are central to long-term financial wellbeing and, in today’s shifting UK landscape, making them simple, accessible, and part of our broader personal finance considerations has never been more important. I look forward to working with the team to deliver on that mission, backed by PensionBee’s innovative, customer-first approach.”
Jasper Martens, Chief Marketing Officer at PensionBee, added: “We are delighted to welcome Maike to PensionBee. Her wealth of experience in personal finance, media and communications will be invaluable as we continue to work towards our mission of building pension confidence and putting UK pension savers back in control of their retirement savings.
“Maike’s appointment reflects our commitment to not only simplifying pensions, but also to empowering people with clear, trustworthy financial insight, guidance and commentary. Her expertise will strengthen our ability to champion the voices of consumers and further solidify PensionBee’s position as a leading voice in the personal finance space.”
