IAG CARGO APPOINTS DANIEL RODRIGUEZ AS HEAD OF DIGITAL SALES TO DRIVE ONLINE GROWTH

IAG Cargo seeks to expand digital capabilities as part of broader strategy to modernise customer service and logistics offering

IAG Cargo, the airfreight division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has appointed Daniel Rodriguez as its new Head of Digital Sales. The move signals the company’s intensified focus on enhancing its online sales platform and digital offerings to meet the evolving needs of customers in the rapidly changing logistics landscape.

Rodriguez, who has been with IAG Cargo since 2018, takes on the newly created role as part of the company’s broader strategy to accelerate its digital transformation. In his new position, Rodriguez will lead efforts to expand and improve IAG Cargo’s online services, which already allow customers to book, amend, and cancel consignments via the company’s website.

Camilo Garcia Cervera, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at IAG Cargo, highlighted the company’s commitment to digitalisation as central to its customer experience strategy. “We are dedicated to constantly innovating our processes to better serve customers. Digitalisation has reshaped the way we connect with clients, enabling them to manage their shipments online with greater ease and flexibility,” Cervera said.

Rodriguez’s appointment comes as IAG Cargo looks to capitalise on the growing importance of e-commerce and digital tools in the global supply chain. The logistics industry, which has seen rapid advancements in technology and automation, is increasingly driven by customer demand for more efficient, user-friendly digital services.

“I’m excited to take on this new role and work with our team to further enhance our digital capabilities,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “Our goal is to leverage the full potential of digital tools to streamline our services, improve efficiencies, and ensure we’re offering the best possible experience to customers, regardless of their location or the size of their business.”

Rodriguez’s extensive experience in the cargo sector and deep understanding of the company’s digital strategy will be key to delivering IAG Cargo’s vision of future-proofing its business and meeting the increasing demand for seamless online services in the air freight industry.

This appointment comes as IAG Cargo continues to innovate and adapt to the changing dynamics of global trade and logistics. The company’s efforts to enhance its digital infrastructure are part of a broader trend across the logistics sector, where companies are investing in technology to improve customer experience, optimise operations, and stay competitive in a digital-first environment.

Rodriguez officially took up his new role on December 2, 2024.
