AUTOSTORE ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES TO SUPPORT EXPANSION PLANS
AutoStore has announced new industry hires from key automation manufacturers Keyence and OMRON to support expansion plans.
To prepare for the company’s crucial next stage of growth AutoStore, a leading robotics and warehouse automation start-up, has appointed key hires to its business development and partner management teams.
Alex Forest is joining AutoStore’s 10 strong UK team and will oversee business development across their manufacturing and industrial portfolios. Forest has a background in engineering which he gained at Keyence, a global factory automation manufacturer, where he held different posts for over a decade. He rose through various sales and account management positions.
Forest, business development manager at AutoStore, commenting on his appointment said: “The company culture and the exciting vision that AutoStore laid out for the future were key factors in my decision to join AutoStore.” He added the company is rapidly growing, developing disruptive products that are completely different to anything else in the marketplace” and he is looking forward to helping the team to grow into untapped areas.
Paul Cusack recently joined AutoStore’s partner management and business development team as partner sales manager. He will liaise between AutoStore’s integration partners and the business. Cusack is a qualified electronic technician and brings over 25 years of experience in the automation sector. He joins AutoStore from OMRON Corporation where he held several sales management roles, such as establishing the UK’s first logistics and warehouse team.
Cusack said: “A key focus for me is to demonstrate the important role automation plays in upskilling warehouse jobs and significantly reducing boredom and risk in day to day roles, subsequently tackling the staff shortages the industry is currently facing.”
These hirings have followed a successful period for AutoStore as they had a substantial boost to their revenues in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the same period last year. This has exceeded predicted forecasts by market analysts.
The managing director at AutoStore UK, James Smith said: “Despite a challenging global economic environment, AutoStore has shown an ability to thrive across all parts of the business and that our recruitment drive remains extremely strong and highly competitive.” He added that he is pleased to have both Alex Forest and Paul Cusack on board as they will play an essential role in assisting to “establish AutoStore as the world’s leading warehouse automation company.”
