Will Butler- Adams, CEO of Brompton Bikes, welcomed Cycling Minister Jesse Norman to the Brompton Bicycle factory in West London. The minister visited the Greenford based manufacturer to discuss the Department for Transport’s call for evidence on cycling.
The Minister was taken for a guided tour of the Brompton factory which produces around 45,000 bikes a year. All Brompton bikes have been handmade in London since 1975 and the company are strong advocates for the many physical and mental health benefits of cycling.
The Department’s call for evidence on cycling and walking in this country, which started back in March is an opportunity for people to share their views and opinions on everything from improved infrastructure to education for all road users.
The Cycling Minister also took a test ride of the new Brompton Electric, Brompton’s first venture into the fast growing e-bike market. The very first electric bikes will be delivered to customers in July this year.
